It is only natural for us to admire other people. When it comes to hair, we all have our own preference in who we dub as our “hair idol.” It is not unusual for celebrities to always strut the streets with perfectly polished and frizz free hair and us regular folk, can’t help but feel envious for their flawless locks! One of my personal hair idols is Blake Lively. She has perfected the effortlessly chic look we all desire.  The biggest sin a beauty maven can make is looking as if she tried too hard. You always want to ensure that your locks are tamed and your style is fresh, but you do not want people to look at you and know you copied your look directly from a magazine or that you just got back from an appointment at the salon!

That’s what I adore about Blake Lively. Her hair is always flowing freely, whether it is waved, straight or in a loose bun, it always looks so chic!  My favorite look on her however, undoubtedly, is the braid. She rocks the side braid like no other and it is the perfect summer style to try as well. Especially if you have long luscious hair like her, it is a simple way to get your locks out of your way in the heat while still looking fashionable at the same time. Pair it with some chandelier earrings and maybe an off the shoulder shirt, and you’re good to go!

Summer may be half way through but it's not too late to take that much needed vacation time and book your summer trip.  Every beauty maven deserves a little luxury vacation to catch up on some well-deserved R&R. Make sure wherever you take your glamorous self to - it is fitting for what kind of vacation you want! If you're looking for an adventure: Brazil provides an action-packed vacation filled with adventure.  You can surf, hike, go rafting, take canopy tours, deep water fish, or go bungee jumping. All of these activities are sure to bring some excitement into your life, especially for those city girls who have been trapped inside the concrete jungle for way too long. This is a chance to finally let your hair down, put on that bikini and let the sunshine be the only flashing light you see. Be sure to pack your Coco de Soleil glossing serum to keep your hair shiny and silky even after a long swim in the ocean.

If you're looking for a culture: Rome is always a great place for those seeking a cultural experience.  It offers historic buildings, museums, and numerous sightseeing opportunities.  Be sure to visit Colosseum, make a wish at the Trevi Fountain, and most importantly indulge in the local food! Also, when you’re done sight-seeing, do some people-watching! Italians have a great sense of fashion and it is not uncommon to see Italian men with hair as long as the women! Not every guy can pull off a ponytail, but if he’s got a sweet accent and a suave personality, then he can rock his locks like there’s no tomorrow.
